When you ask people what is most important to them in their lives, you usually hear two answers: health and family. We at GREEN PAWLY can only agree! And because dogs are a member of the family for us, their health is also very important to us. In order for our four-legged friends to stay (or become) healthy, the right diet and therefore the right dog food is crucial. So today we would like to compare conventional food with our GREEN PAWLY dry dog food. We would like to tell you more about the ingredients in our food (and also the non-ingredients), the composition and processing, why we chose the ingredients and what benefits they can have for your furry friend.
dog food with a high meat content
GREEN PAWLY dog food has an above-average meat content of 33%, as many low-quality dog foods have a meat content of less than 20%. A high meat content in dog food is important to ensure natural nutrition. Today's domestic dogs are descended from wolves, which mainly fed on meat. However, two things should be noted:
A high meat content does not say anything about the quality:
Of course, dog food that contains a lot of meat is good for dogs. However, it's not just the "how much?" that matters, but also the "what?" We make sure that the meat in our dog food is of high quality, which is why it is produced without slaughterhouse waste.
The meat content in our dog food consists exclusively of chicken:
It is particularly rich in protein and is well tolerated by most four-legged friends, making it suitable for dogs with sensitive stomachs. It is also leaner because it has a lower fat content than beef, for example.
However, our food contains other ingredients. Why? While it is true that meat is important for a dog's diet, it should not only consist of meat. Dogs are omnivores and need other ingredients for a balanced diet to cover their daily nutritional needs. In nature, dogs, or especially their ancestors, the wolves, also eat a large portion of meat, but also other things that they find in nature. With our natural food, we wanted to imitate this natural diet as closely as possible.
Dog food with vitamins and minerals thanks to nutritious superfoods
Many guides are full of tips on a balanced, healthy and mostly very natural diet. We wanted to offer this opportunity to our four-legged family member. That's why GREEN PAWLY food contains lots of healthy superfoods that contain many important nutrients. In addition to high-quality meat, this includes fruits, herbs and plants. All of the ingredients in our food have been deliberately selected by us and each contributes to your pet's nutritional supply. Since some of our ingredients may be unknown to some dog owners, you can find all the information about the effects of our superfoods in our ingredient guide.
Cold-pressed dog food
Our dog food is produced using the cold-pressing process. When the ingredients are "put together" in our special, gently cold-pressed dog food, temperatures of up to 45 degrees are created. By comparison: conventional manufacturing processes for extruded dog food can reach temperatures of up to 120 degrees. This destroys many of the nutrients contained in the ingredients. In cold-pressed dog food, on the other hand, nutrients such as vitamins and minerals are retained due to the gentle processing of the ingredients. Cold-pressed food is therefore easier to digest and more natural because it is processed less. So that you know exactly how our food is produced and processed, we would of course be happy to explain our manufacturing process to you in more detail.
Natural dog food without chemical additives
Natural nutrition - what does that actually mean? For us, it means that we do not use any chemical additives in our dog food. The dog should be fed as close to its natural diet as possible. On the one hand, this means that certain ingredients must not be missing. But it also means that some ingredients should not be present:
dog food without additives
GREEN PAWLY dry dog food does not contain any sensory additives such as flavorings or colorings. We do not use flavor enhancers and want to offer our pets a taste that is as natural and authentic as possible.
dog food without sugar
No artificial sugar is added to our dog food. Ingredients such as raspberries, açai berries and pomegranate contain natural fructose, but no industrial sugar like in many other dog foods.
dog food without preservatives
We do not add artificial preservatives as these can damage the intestinal mucosa of dogs and put a strain on their metabolism. Many dogs are also allergic to synthetic preservatives, which you can notice in skin irritations such as rashes.
dog food without slaughterhouse waste
Good quality is important to us, especially when it comes to meat. That's why we only use high-quality products without slaughterhouse waste to make our dog food. Slaughterhouse waste is often referred to as "animal by-products" in low-quality dog food. These are usually unsuitable for humans and are therefore added to the dog food. The main problem is that the term can be interpreted very broadly. That's why dog owners often don't know exactly what is in the food. There is no slaughterhouse waste in our dog food, so you know exactly what you are feeding your darling.
dog food without attractants
Attractants are a specific type of additive. They are intended to stimulate the appetite and make the dog food tasty. We are convinced that food that is as natural and as close to prey as possible with high-quality ingredients produces a much better taste and therefore do not use attractants in our food.
